Alisha Z. was baptized on Sunday, April 14th! Alisha is a young professional in midtown, and has shared how she has seen Jesus pursuing her for years. Growing up in a Muslim home, Alisha has been around strong faith for much of her life. She has shared that through time in nature and meeting Christians over the years, Jesus has always seemed like someone she needed to know more about. After in-depth bible study over the last months, Alisha learned more about Jesus and has overflown with joy and gratitude towards Jesus in the gospels. She has shared that his overwhelming love towards her encouraged her to make Him Lord and to be baptized.
Our friend and now sister, Leann, was baptized in Christ last week in the Bloom’s pool. When Larry and Bobbie Drury last year moved into assisted-living, they started reaching out to people that would began a Bible talk there. As we read through Acts 2, Leann asked questions about baptism. Janice Youmans and Becky Nelson studied the Bible and became great friends with Leann. In addition to understanding the method of baptism, Leann understood the purpose to surrender one’s life to Christ. Her aunt and mother came for the baptism to witness this amazing event.
