In Me as it is in Heaven pt 1
The sermon on the mount flips the values and principles of this world upside down. Jesus starts off the greatest sermon ever told with the beatitudes doing just that. He takes the people the world looks down upon, and says that those very people are the ones who have favor from God (blessed). It takes ultimate trust in Jesus, the King of the Kingdom of Heaven, to “not conform to the pattern of this word, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds” and embrace God’s Will in the sermon on the mount. In me as it is in Heaven.
- What are examples of values looked down upon in the world that are lifted up in the Kingdom of God? (or vice versa - lifted up in the world, put down in the Kingdom)

- What makes it hard for you to be poor in spirit or to mourn?
Read Matt 5:5.
- When was a recent time when you were not meek?
In our world the people who are poor in Spirit, who mourn, and who are meek are misconstrued as being insecure, timid, or a doormat for the “strong to walk on”.
- How can embodying these three values actually make you strong, confident, and secure?
- How/where can you personally embrace these values of the Kingdom?
