For Further Reflection/Discussion
Our overall attitude as apprentices of Jesus: "The Son of Man came to serve, not to be served." Is this your attitude when you’re around your fellow brothers and sisters? If not, why?
How does it feel when you perceive a lack of consideration or ingratitude from others in the church? How can reflecting on Luke 17:1-10 help you in these moments?
Do you relate more to the older son or the younger son in the parable of the Prodigal Son? Do you think you've treasured what you could get from God more than being with God? Deep down are you serving dutifully and expecting a reward? Do you feel God values you more if you produce more obedience, more Bible studies, feeding more poor people, etc.?
